Ballet and Pointe Classes

A classical dance form that is the foundational movement for many types of dance.  Classes include barre, center, and across the floor work.  In ballet class, each dancer will focus on developing turn out, discipline, poise, balance, grace, coordination, musicality and most importantly, confidence. Attention to proper execution of skills and muscular development of each student is paramount and the driving force behind our teaching. With the knowledge from the exercises taught in ballet, a dancer can and will utilize this technique in other forms of dance.

Jazz/Hip-Hop Dance Classes

This class enables students to take the 2 most popular forms of dance in one class—jazz & hip-hop. We have found that the combination of jazz and hip-hop is ideal for beginning students to learn the necessary elements of jazz such as isolations and individual expression which are crucial to success in hip-hop. They also get to learn hip-hop moves which require the coordination and balance learned from jazz.

Modern Dance Classes

An expressive form of dance, utilizing body contractions, flexed feet, off-center body shapes, and floor-work. While modern dance began as a rebellion against the rigidness of ballet, the modern dance of today uses evolved ballet techniques while focusing on the personal “voice” of each dancer. Students get to “express” themselves a bit more.
